Bio: 

The majority of my professional experience was gained at a plaintiff-side legal marketing firm, where I held a wide variety of roles. Helping to grow the company from a small regional operation to a truly national law firm will remain the highlight of my career. I recall those 12–14-hour workdays as though they were a dream come true. That's because I believed in what we were doing with all my heart.

I started Julie A Rivers Consulting while still in business school. After “clearing my calendar” for three years to become a caregiver to my dear mom, I began to realize how precious time is. I also came to see how a flexible schedule – no matter how bad the circumstances are that created it – can become a pursuit of happiness if you let it. 

I did some soul-searching while absorbing the subject matter of my MBA coursework and decided against pursuing a managerial role in the private sector, which was my original intent. Instead, I wanted to help small businesses work through the many obstacles that come along with scarce resources and limited budgets. My own business being the first on that list! 

With COVID-19 derailing the plans of so many businesses, I remain committed to helping small business owners on a pro-bono basis, if even informally, while I finally take my own leap into the world of freelance writing.

Writing has been my greatest passion in life from as far back as I can remember. I am thrilled to make my dream of doing it for a living become my official second act!
