Most of my professional experience comes from a plaintiff-side legal marketing firm, where I held a wide range of roles. Helping grow the company from a small regional operation into a national law firm remains the highlight of my career. I recall those 12 to 14-hour workdays as a dream come true. That's because I believed in what we were doing with all my heart.

I started Julie A Rivers Consulting while still in business school. After clearing my calendar for 3 years to become an unpaid caregiver to my dear mom, I came to understand just how precious time is. I also realized that, no matter how difficult the circumstances, a flexible schedule can become a path to happiness — if you allow it. 

I did some soul-searching while absorbing the subject matter of my MBA coursework and decided against pursuing a managerial role in the private sector, which was my original plan. Instead, I wanted to help small businesses work through the many obstacles that come with scarce resources and limited budgets — starting with my own!
